Responsibilities – Loan Officer Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
  • Knowledge of commercial real estate, construction, and commercial credits and has understanding of credit policy and procedures, and is able to determine risk-rate loans, evaluates both cash-flow and collateral-based loans.
  • Complete understanding of regulatory compliance regarding commercial lending.
  • Understanding AFNB’s lending policy and procedures.
  • Generate new loans through prospecting, outside calling, networking, and referrals.
  • Primary responsibility is day-to-day contact to respond to new loan requests and questions from existing loan customers.
  • Helping loan customers to complete loan applications and obtain necessary financial documents to determine the merits of specific loan requests, and recommend the loan structure for credit analyst for analysis.
  • Maintain and apply a thorough understanding of the bank’s policy, client eligibility and all necessary business practices to ensure the submission of accurate and complete commercial loan packages
  • Perform ongoing monitoring and reviewing of financial statements and collateral with ability to determine appropriate required action including down grade or upgrade loan cases.
  • Participates in Bank marketing and CRA activities, and community & business functions to ensure a positive image for the bank within the branch’s market area.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as needed.
  • Able to travel to meet with clients and prospective clients in Las Vegas, Pahrump and Amargosa.
  • Cross-sell deposits and other services to our existing loan clients and new loan customers.
Qualifications –
  • A self-starter, has flexibility and adaptability to a dynamic environment and has ability to learn quickly.
  • 3 years in a bank commercial lending related experience such as credit portfolio management or credit training or commercial loan business development with proven successful track record and networking, or underwriting commercial real estate loan and construction loan.
  • Strong writing, interpersonal and communication skills are critical.
  • Assertive and self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; preference for finance or accounting major or concentration.
  • Good knowledge of a financial institution's commercial lending procedures.
  • Demonstrate strong service and support oriented skills.
